Kettle dyed alpaca silk
00:00
{Colour: I just dyed in your arms tonight}
Here is my first attempt to dye with acid colour - and I love it! Just love that I can transform boring yarn into something with an unique color.
What I did:
100 g of Alpaca/ Silk in a light dust pink shade
1 ts of blue acid powder dye with a sprinkle of yellow (I used Ashford dyes)
3 dl white vinegar
Water
Soaked the yarn in water
Dissolved the dye in hot water
Mixed with the vinegar and heated up to a low boil
boil and cooled down before I washed it with wool wash and hang to dry.
The result: a lovely shade of kettle dyed blue some blue/ green tones.
Love it!
Will dye again soon!
