February FO & WIPs

02:22

The month started with me attending my very first Baby & Knit event at Skabagtig yarn store in Aalborg. It was so nice to nerd about yarn and knitting again. I was surrounded by temptations, like these mini sock skeins from Hedgehog Fibers. It was so hard not to go crazy but I managed only to buy some merino/ cotton blend for a pair of baby pants.
February also brought a new baby into the world. My friend gave birth to daughter number 2 and I just had to pull out my pink yarn and knit something. I themed lambswool with a strand of hand-dyed yarn (party with glitter) for a perfect hooded hat (design by Pickles.no) that she'll wear when winter comes again.

It was also the month that winter truly arrived Denmark with below zero degrees and snow - and oh yeah amazing light too. I wore my favourite wool (including my topdown Riddari)

I finally finished my top down sweater knitted in lovely merino tweed and knitted Stay soft shawl (by Veera Välimäki  with  some lovely stash yarn - Shetland soft and merino tweed.

I also spend time yarn and knit nerding with yarn mags and my mum.

UFO/ frogged?
My Miss Rachel's yoke isn't quite right... I'm not sure if I have enough base colour (it was a kit) and the fit is a bit off. Strongly considering unravel and reknit- topdown for a better fit. Really like the colours and the yarn.

Plans for marts
  1. Finished the baby overalls I have on my needles
  2. Unravel Miss Rachel's yoke
  3. Plan next baby knitting project
  4. Decide which big project to start

January FO & WIPs

02:51

First month of 2017 and I've been knitting a lot! As previously mentioned it's been a month of waiting and knitting. I don't know about you but I try to always bring my knitting to any situation where waiting is involved. I've had limited access to my stash as most is packed so I've been sticking to the yarn I packed before Xmas.

FO (finished objects) January 2017

Mittens! I've knitted two pair of mittens in January. A orange pair that ended up size 1 year (was suppose to fit a large 3 year old so I have to make him some new ones) and a yellow pair for the 5 year old.

I've finished a sweater and hat for the youngest little monkey in my family. The hat fits perfectly, and has become a staple for nap time (currently with his rainbow striped cardigan). The sweater is a bit large and is tucked away for autumn.

Hat and sweater designed by Strikkezilla aka Tina Hauglund and are available here

WIPs (work in progress)

Currently I'm on the final stages of Miss Rachel's gauntlets and yoke designed by Katie Davies. Originally I wanted to knit it topdown for a better fit but decided to follow the designers bottom up method. It's a bit big but that can be a good thing too. But I think I'll return to knitting topdown after this.
I decided to knit the sleeves topdown as I'm not sure if I'll add the gauntest design as a part of the sleeves. And yes I've made it a cardigan and not a sweater.

I'm also on the last stages of Topdown sweater by Pickles in their lovely Pickles Merino Tweed. A bit dull to knit but can't wait to have a sweater in that yarn. It's so nice and can be worn inside too.

Pattern and yarn available here
